Yup, I have some major news...
There is someone new in my life who is "sweater-worthy". And so I am knitting a lovely sweater for him, it is a pattern from the Queensland Book No. 9 - called Beck.

We met a while back, it was not planned and I didn't think I was up for a new man, but as it turns out, I am. I don't know what all to share right now. Let's see. He is as Southern as they come, a single dad with two of three kids still at home, very tall (6 feet 4 - love it) and coaches his son's 6th grade football team. I thought about a nickname for the new man for the blog and decided to call him The Coach.
The Coach pretty much turned my life upside down within a heartbeat. All of a sudden I am going to football practice and high school football games. It is a totally new world for me. And I started watching college football - I am sure you already guessed his favorite team, Georgia, of course. I still have no freakin' idea what happens on the field but I am getting a lot of knitting done and you will laugh, I ordered "Football for Dummies" because I hate feeling like a dummy ;-). He makes laugh out load every day and I feel like a 16-year-old teenager when I am around him. I love his kids, his parents and his grandmother. His family reminds me of mine, a big funny bunch and very welcoming. Things seem to be working out great and I am enjoying myself. So, besides my wonderful friends, I now have a bunch great new friends to hang out with on the sidelines. ;-)
The Coach and I are going to Germany in October. My mom is dieing to meet the man that makes me so happy. We'll be there for 10 days. My nephew's christening will take place while we are over there and I am ready for everyone to meet The Coach. He reminds me very much of the friends my brother had when I grew and the boys I used hang out with at school. And we are going to Italy for a few days to visit Venice and Verona. There will be lots of pictures. I am hoping that my new toy, the Acer Aspire, and lots of wireless hotspots will help to keep you posted while I am travelling.
Thought I'd finally share the happy news. Hopefully I’ll have some time soon to post more often. Work is a killer these days, with a series of events at the end of September. But it is all good. A lot of interesting tasks that take me back to my origins, event marketing.
Time to go to bed…

He sounds great! I never watched football either, in fact, I prided myself on the fact that I had no idea what was going on in the football world, but my husband changed that. I love the guilt-free knitting time, too!
I'm so happy that you're happy!

Ooooh, I know him! Hee hee. I'm so glad you two are happy. You totally deserve it. And don't listen to ESC, that yarn is so soft (using it for my great niece) and that way he won't felt it!
I hope I see you soon!

That's wonderful news to read! It's one thing to knit a sweater for a man, it's another thing to knit a sweater for a 6'4" tall man!
