HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Yes, I am back. Germany sent me back over a week ago. The holidays had a lot of mixed feelings. I feel like I need to go on another vacation because I came back very drained. I'd love to go somewhere were I have not been before - without any memories. Memories hurt a lot right now. A lot of times I caught and catch myself thinking that Irwin was around the last time this or that happened. Yeap, I am still a mess and trying to keep my head up.
But there are also fabulous good news. Some of you might have heard the news already or read it on Brett's blog. Brett moved in over the holidays and now I have a room mate. Totally cool. I said we are like the "Odd Couple", me of course being messy Oscar... Brett says we are "Shirley and Laverne", him being Shirley... I leave that picture to your imagination.
I have to say, he is a great room mate. Cooks, cleans, watches the same TV shows. Nope, you can't have him. Hermione and Noah would be totally upset. ;-)
I knitted quite a bit while I was in Germany - a pair of socks, a hat and a scarf (actually, I think I started the scarf at least 5 times because I didn't like how the different patterns knitted up). And I have one sleeve, one front and almost half of the back of the Sylvi coat finished. I love knitting that coat. Except - a few days ago I got an email to download a new version of the pattern and I haven't had the heart and/or the time to take a closer look. So, of course, I still need to take pictures of all of these projects... And also some pictures of my house full of boxes that need to find a spot eventually and some new pictures of the dogs. They did well at the doggie hotel but they were totally excited when they got home. I always feel like that they appreciate their home a little bit more when they come back from being boarded - at least for a few minutes. ;-)
My mom knitted me a cute hat to match a pair of fingerless mittens I knitted before Christmas. And she started another sweater for me. Nope, you can have her either. ;-) And now that it has gotten so cold, I can actually wear the set. Neat.
So, it's good to back home and it's good that I have a room mate now. Brett is like a brother to me and we get along great. Or should I say, Shirley is like a sister to me... Hmmm...
And all you lovely knitting friends who haven't blogged in months but posted before me and teased me about it, you can stop harrassing me now. ;-) Just kidding - you know I love all the teasing. Because it means you care.
Let's hope 2009 will bring me some better luck soon. All the best to you and your families!!! And good fiber karma for 2009!
