I was thinking about how to not spell out the title of the movie I have seen twice in three days now... Here is the movie poster so you'll know which movie I'm talking about:
I saw it in German the first time on Sunday with my SIL. SO NOT FUNNY! The jokes get lost in translation. And this evening I saw it for the second time with one of my coworkers, this time in English. Much better, but still just a so-so movie. Especially since I have never been into the TV series. (I haven't seen a single episode.)

I watched a couple of episodes on TV and gave up. To me it was a big yawn.

I think you need to have seen the tv episodes to know about the history of the characters to get the true inside humor and flavor of the story. The tv episodes are fun. You may want to rent them and then see the movie again. I really enjoyed the movie. I hope they decide to make another.
