Y'all - Advent starts tomorrow. I dragged the plastic wreath out of the storage closet and decorated my office today:

I hope you'll be the lucky recipient of an Advent calendar. When I grew up my Mom would always get such a calendar for me and my siblings:

Of course, she had to get three because there was no way we could share one. And each year my brother stole the chocolates from my sister's and mine. He was very sneaky and was able to close the little cardboard doors to make it look like they had never been opened. But we always knew...
So this year, Hubby had a great idea to celebrate Advent for me. He will do a Bovent. Which means I'll get a treat every day - a new CowParade cow. You could call it the 24 Cows of Christmas. And I'll share with you. You'll see each cow photographed with some of my favorite yarns. After all, this is a knitting blog, right?
So, lean back and enjoy with me. :-)
And to get you in the mood, I'll share with you what my dear coworker brought back for me from her trip to Germany last week. A Bavarian Cow Pie:

Yup, the cow pies in Bavaria are all like this. Hazelnuts, rice crispies and lots of chocolate. And we sell them to tourists. MUA-HA-HA-HA-HA...
And with this cartoon from The New Yorker for all the kitty lovers, I'll let you go into your weekend. Hope it's going to be a good one.

I have the first of quite a few holiday parties on Sunday. I can't wait, because all the guests are knitters and/or spinners. Pictures to follow!
