OK, I thought it'd be fun to add some language to the blog. ;-)
In this case it'll be a German knitting word a day, every day in October. Let's hope I can keep up and not disappoint you guys.
SOOOOO, let's start with an easy one and then you'll also understand the button:
knitting (noun) - das Stricken
If you click on the word, you should hear it spoken. I will do my best to find links so you can listen to how to pronounce the words correctly.
And as an extra, there will be a quiz at the end of the month and a prize! And if you're really interested, grab the button for your blog and let me know and I will raffle off a prize among the bloggers, too. This should be fun - I am excited!
Stay tuned!

How cute! You should give us a swatch to knit using German directions and those who get it right get in the drawing... ;)

Oh, how fun! I learned to knit in Germany 20 years ago, and I still recite "rechts, links" instead of "knit, purl" when I knit.

Vielen dank, Claudia! You know this will help me a lot. I am putting a copy of that button in my sidebar like right now!

Wow, toll. I'm a transplanted Hessen girl myself. This is of monumental help since I phone home weekly a talk knitting to my aunt. I'm always groping for words. this will keep me in the loop.

Love it!
I have a few German knitting books and while I speak German fairly well and can knit per English instructions, it's not an easy translation.
How fun!

I love this idea. I'm an Australian knitted transplanted to Germany and struggling to learn German. Every little bit helps :)
