HAPPY THOUGHTS FROM GERMANY!!!

Hey guys - I saw all your comments and I am so happy that I have such a nice knitting buddy community - I can't tell you how appreciated I feel! I miss y'all!!!

SO - I arrived safely last Saturday. Bro and SIL picked me up at the airport. The weather has been gorgeous since I got here - when angels travel... ha-ha-ha...

We had a long weekend - Germany has two bank holidays for Easter - Good Friday and Easter Monday. Everything (!!!) is closed. This also means that in my little hometown the sidewalks are rolled up and the town is deserted except for all the tourists who spent their Easter vacation here and harrass the natives. :-)

No knitting pictures yet - but I already uploaded a bunch onto Flickr. Help yourself if you want to see them. Here are my favorites - so far...

The highest mountain - the Zugspitze - all the way in the back

I will take knitting pictures tonight. More soon - take care! Happy Wednesday!

Viel Spass noch in D :-)

Those mountains are breathtaking! Such beautiful scenery.

Sandy beat me to calling it a Frog Orgy.

Steve:

Awesome pics! Can't believe there really are places that beautiful. (I need to get out more often!) We'll miss you at the library tonight! Hope you are enjoying your family! (did your Dad love his vest?)

Welch ein Neid. Rub it in, why don't you. I miss Germany so much, but a vacation will have to wait. Send my regards up the mountains.

Diana:

Beautiful pics of the children and the scenery... but the frogs?????? Well, anyway, glad to hear your travels were safe and you are enjoying great weather(it's cold and raining here at the moment!).

Did you give your dad his vest yet? Looking forward to the pictures.

Take care and don't work too hard.

Doug:

Looks like you are having a great time! We sure miss you! The pictures are really making me miss Germany. It's nice that I can 'visit' vicariuosly through you picture posts. Can't wait to see more. :)>

Shari:

Claudia,
The first time that I ever skied was on the Zugspitze! I was 19. It is so beautiful there, it makes me even more excited for my family vacation this summer.

I really miss you. I hope that we can get together when you return.
Shari

Your pictures are so beautiful. I've never been to Germany but as it turns out I may be going on a cruise this summer which will visit Oslo, Helsinki, Copenhagen, St Petersburg, & Estonia. When I saw the beautiful mountains & scenery in your pictures it makes me hope all the more that it works out. I hope your time there is as happy as expected.

C,

Wow, it looks like you are having a great time. I miss you.

T.

Heavy sigh. Miss you! Maybe I'll have my new wheel when you come back and we can go somewhere and spin.

Meanwhile I'll just be gardening. In the snow, apparently.

I didn't know frogs HAD orgies. Funny the things one can learn on the internet...

Debra:

Your niece is so very cute. Could you sneak her back with you? I would enjoy an adorable baby girl again, since mine are now 20ish.

I have, somewhere, a picture of me about age 7, skiing the Zugspitze back in the early 1960s. Yeah, I'm old ...

Fond memories of Garmisch. Mom jokes that in the winter there, *everything* is offered "mit Schlage"!
